We’re a bunch of keen golfers who like brainstorming about the game we love. And in particular, about ways of enabling more people to play or practice more often.
Golf may be big on TV, but without innovation it’s in danger of starving itself of new players.
Busy lives mean that leisure activity now tends to be taken in short bursts, making four hours for a typical round of golf too long for many people - and that’s without the travel time to and from a course.
NET60SIX makes golf more accessible and convenient. It uses a completely new way of playing - fast, fun, inexpensive and easy - to attract more people into the game, including juniors, and to give more practice to those who are already passionate about it.
The aim of NET60SIX isn’t to replace golf but to help everyone play better golf more often.
The best of the old meets the best of the new
To innovate, old assumptions have to be challenged. One of them is that a game of golf has to be played on an 18 hole golf course. But does it?
How about adapting golfing ranges - plentiful, urban, inexpensive, all-weather - to deliver the playing experience of a full golf course but in far less time?
Then, how about bringing in web-based technologies to enable players to play alone or competitively, improve their skills and their scores, and even work interactively with a local golf pro? (This is the concept that evolved into the NET60SIX Playing Partner.)
And because NET60SIX would be the same game anywhere in the UK - in fact, anywhere in the world - how about online networks of NET60SIX players? Competing players or teams could play real matches against each other - but on ranges many miles apart. NET60SIX technologies would bring them together before, during and after games.
Essentially, NET60SIX would be a perfect partnership of a great old game and cool new technologies. It would offer fast, affordable and fun games of golf to everyone, irrespective of age or ability.
NET60SIX - from concept to reality
That’s NET60SIX as a ground-breaking innovation. Making it a reality has taken some time, but we’re nearly there.
We’re grateful for the support we’ve already had from The R&A, The England Golf Partnership, Mark James, Parnell Reilly and others, including many professionals.
Mainly though, we want to involve you in our plans for developing NET60SIX, so that we get it right first time and create a fast fun way to play golf for the times we live in today.
Please email us on golf@net60six.com to let us know your thoughts on the NET60SIX concept, and how we might turn it into a compelling and global game.
